Following the film’s poster debut a week ago, I expected its first trailer would premiere soon after, especially given that “Entertainment Tonight” got a first-look at it 2 nights ago. So if you were watching, you caught of a glimpse of Lionsgate’s upcoming adaptation of erotic fiction writer Zane’s popular novel “Addicted,” which follows the trials and tribulations of a professional African American woman with a sex addiction.

But if you weren’t watching “Entertainment Tonight” 2 nights ago (I wasn’t), you’re in luck, because the full trailer has finally been released and is embedded below, giving you some sense of what to expect.

Directed by Bille Woodruff, from a script penned by Christina Welsh and Ernie Barbarash, the film stars Sharon Lean as Zoe Reynard, who’s married to the man she has loved since childhood (played by Boris Kodjoe), has 2 wonderful children, and enjoys a thriving professional life, but feels helpless in the grip of an overpowering addiction… to sex. Finding a therapist to help her, Zoe finally finds the courage to tell her torrid story – a tale of guilt and desire.

Joining Leal and Boris Kodjoe in the adaptation are Tasha Smith, Tyson Beckford, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Kat Graham, and William Levy.

The novel is described as a erotic psychological drama/thriller.

Filming took place in Atlanta in late 2012, with a nationwide theatrical debut now set for October 10, 2014.

Check out the just-released first trailer for the Lionsgate/Codeblack film, followed by last week’s first poster underneath it.
