This was one of the films I predicted would make its debut at Sundance 2012, but it didn't; a seak peak screening of the film will happen next week Thursday, May 3, 10pm, at the reRun Gastropub Theater, here in NYC.
Info on Brandon Harris' Redlegs (his feature film debut), has been sparse. I believe our intro to it was when he was trying to raise money for it via Kickstarter (he did raise the money, by the way).
Last I spoke to him, many months ago, Brandon was pretty much done with post-production, which I thought was just in time to meet the Sundance Film Festival's submission deadline.
As a reminder, long-time readers of S&A will recall that we've posted 2 of Brandon's short films on S&A – his short erotic thriller Evangeleo. and Happiness is No Fun (a "black" spoof of Godard's Breathless).
His feature debut, Redlegs, as described, is "a comedic drama set amongst grieving twenty-something man-boys in the industrial Midwest who's black friend was recently murdered in a historically troubled part of Cincinnati, Ohio."
I plan to attend the screening next week.
A theatrical release date is set for May 25th.
Brandon is also a contributing editor to Filmmaker magazine.
