According to several news outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, TV star Kim Fields (Diff’rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, Living Single) has reportedly joined the cast of the upcoming Lionsgate film adaptation of the best-selling book What To Expect When You’re Expecting. The project also features Chris Rock, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick, with Kirk Jones directing.

The Hollywood Reporter points out that this will be Field’s first feature film; a surprise to me, I might add. I guess those BET Arabesque films from the late 90’s don’t exactly count.

In What To Expect . . ., Fields will play a social worker who helps out a couple with an adoption. On the surface, there doesn’t seem to be much meat to the role, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

For those of you wondering what Kim Fields has been up to in recent years, it’s reported that she “has directed dozens of episodes of the Tyler Perry-created series Meet the Browns and House of Payne.”
