Congratulations are in order for the buzzy, up-and-coming U.K. girl group FLO.

The R&B trio won the Brit Awards’ Rising Star award, and they’re the first band to do so, the BBC reports.

“We’ve just made history and couldn’t have done it without our wonderful fans and supportive families. It’s truly a dream come true. We feel so empowered creating the music we love and we hope others feel that too,” the band said in a statement, The Independent reports.

FLO, founded in 2021, quickly skyrocketed to fame, thanks to TikTok.

Their viral hit “Cardboard Box” had users in a chokehold for quite some time, and even spawned a TikTok dance challenge.

That catapulted into success that the band’s members — Stella Quaresma, Renée Downer and Jorja Douglas — previously only had dreamed of. They’ve raked up 70 million streams and 319,000 followers on TikTok, and they’ve secured celebrity fans like Missy Elliott, Brandy and Kelly Rowland.

They’ve come a long way from the Sylvia Young Stage School, where Quaresma and Downer met. They later connected with Douglas on Instagram, and the rest was history.

FLO beat out jungle artist Nia Archives and torch singer Cat Burns for the prestigious award. The latter snagged a No. 2 hit earlier this year with her break-up banger “Go.”

The award, which was initially called the Critics’ Choice award, has been bestowed on some of the U.K.’s greatest talents — Adele, Florence + the Machine and Sam Fender, to name a few.

Regarding their big win, FLO said they’re “shocked and grateful” to be taking home a Brit so soon after their debut, the BBC reports.

“As a kid, I was ambitious and I had a plan, and a Brit was on it,” Quaresma told BBC Radio 1. “But not as a group and not this young!”

According to Douglas, their family-like bond is what makes them unique, and the key to their success.

“We’re the sisters we never had. That’s literally what it is,” she said, according to the BBC.

The single “Cardboard Box” was followed up by their first EP, The Lead, which contained fan-favorite songs like “Immature” and “Summertime.”

They are currently working on their debut album, teaming again with frequent collaborator MNEK and other producers, such as Darkchild, That Grape Juice reports.

The group will officially receive the Rising Star award during the ceremony at London’s O2 Arena in February.
