The cause of death for Florida college student Miya Marcano, 19, was revealed as a "homicide of undetermined means," according to an autopsy report, WPLG reports.
Armando Caballero, a handyman at Marcano's apartment complex, was accused of killing the teen.
According to the report, Marcano's body was located on Oct. 2 tied up with duct tape near the apartment complex where she lived after a weeklong search, NBC reports.
Her body was described by Joshua Stephany, the chief medical examiner for Osceola and Orange counties, as "nearly skeletonized," and her neck, wrists, and ankles had black duct tape on them, the report disclosed.
Stephany said he could not inspect Marcano's body for specific injuries because her body was severely decomposed.
Marcano worked at the Orlando apartment complex while attending Valencia College. Caballero, 27, worked as a maintenance worker and had allegedly made several advances toward Marcano, according to a lawsuit filed by her family against the apartment building owners.
When Marcano expressed her uneasiness about Caballero to the apartment manager, the manager “was not taking the safety concerns of the employees and tenants, very seriously,” the lawsuit stated.
Investigators concluded that Caballero had access to apartment keys and used a master key to gain access to Marcano's home, the Associated Press reports.
