Authorities in Orange City, Florida, north of Orlando, have arrested an officer on charges of making terroristic threats. Joshua David Fancher, 25, allegedly attempted to extort a Georgia woman and her family members in numerous messages by threatening her to send him nude photos.
According to a statement released by the public affairs office of the Orange City Police Department, Fancher was arrested on a Georgia felony warrant Tuesday, May 29, on extortion charges. The unidentified woman reported she received numerous messages from Fancher demanding she send him nude photos. The threats started on Instagram, the release stated.

The victim reported that Fancher threatened to kill her and kill or rape her family members if she did not comply by sending her nude pictures.
"The victim reported receiving numerous threatening messages from an unknown person attempting to extort her for nude photographs," the release read. "The messages, which started via Instagram, included threats to kill the victim and kill and/or rape her family members if she didn’t provide the photos."
Fancher resigned from the Orange City Police Department upon being confronted with charges last Tuesday. He was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he was held without bond.
