I know, I know. Of course I could have picked a better photo for our pal Forest instead of this one from Battlefield Earth. It’s the one film I KNOW he must regret making more than any other film. But it just goes to show you that even the greatest of actors, even Oscar-winning ones like Forest, have a film or two they would rather forget. Actors are just like us. We’re human. We all make mistakes.
But having said that, let’s get to the issue at hand; Mr. Whitaker has joined the cast of The Last Stand which marks the return to the big screen of the former California governor and recently divorced (and baby daddy) Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In the film, described as a modern day western, the Terminator plays a sheriff in a border town who goes mano-a-mano against an escaped drug cartel leader heading for the Mexican border.
No word about what role Whitaker plays in the Lionsgate film which also stars Luis Guzman and Johnny Knoxville, and which started shooting today with South Korean director Jee-woon Kim (who directed the terrific and insanely entertaining The Good The Bad and The Weird and the perverse serial killer thriller I Saw The Devil) directing.
We don’t know how the The Last Stand will turn out, but one thing for sure, considering the director’s previous work, it’s going to be crazy violent.
