Zane, the prolific author of several erotic fiction novels, maybe best known for Addicted (which, by the way, is currently being adapted to film), saw her self-published Sex Chronicles become the basis for the Cinemax program Zane’s Sex Chronicles, which ran for 2 seasons, starting in 2008.

And now, her latest project, Zane’s The Jumpoff, premiered last night, March 29, 2013, also on Cinemax.

Did anyone watch it? Did anyone even know about it?

I’m only just learning about the series this morning, so I’m not sure that a lot of marketing was done for it, before last night’s premiere. I subscribe to well over 100 different news and commentary websites and blogs, many of them black news and views specific. And I don’t recall seeing a single announcement of this until this morning.

But no matter, it debuted on Cinemax at 11pm last night.

Here’s how Cinemax describes it:

Zane’s latest series follows five 30-something frat brothers and their women as they grapple with issues like commitment, fidelity and forgiveness. Five men, friends brought together by bonds formed through college, fraternity brotherhood, and family tackle the growing pains of maturing, love, sex, careers, and each other’s constantly evolving personalities in urban America.

It sounds like it’s the male version of Sex Chronicles.

Amin Joseph, Shannon Mosley, Shakira Ja’nai Paye, Amber Sharae Topsy, Reggie White Jr. and several others, make up the series’ cast.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate’s big screen adaptation of Zane’s Addicted, which follows the trials and tribulations of a successful sex-addicted African American businesswoman, stars Sharon Leal, Tasha Smith, Boris Kodjoe, and others, with Bille Woodruff directing the film.

No word on a release date.

But did any of you catch The Jumpoff last night? It looks like business as usual for Zane-branded material, but she certainly has her fans (her Facebook page has around 240,000 *likes* and growing), and I’m sure some of you are members of that burgeoning club.

And with the near-deafening talk about the 50 Shades Of Grey film adaptation, Zane’s been at that game for more than a minute.

Here’s a preview:
