Another day, another earnest effort from Fox News to taint the images of Black athletes.
On Monday, the outlet set their ultra-conservative gaze on Team USA’s men’s basketball team for celebrating their gold medal victory by consuming alcohol.

The publication ran a full-fledged story titled “Kevin Durant, Draymond Green Were ‘Drunk’ During Team USA Celebration."

A video posted by Green shows Durant, Devin Booker and Damian Lillard living their best tipsy life by way of fellow NBA player's LeBron James’ Lobos Tequila brand.
Many took to Twitter to troll Fox News for its obnoxious story.
So what. They won for America. I get drunk to celebrate me washing the dishes. Why is this a story.

Some pointed out the story may have only been worthwhile for the publication because of the players' race.
Is drinking while black a crime?

So now African American athletes can’t even celebrate after winning an Olympic gold medal without being subjected to scrutiny? @FoxNews what’s the point of this story?

They're over 21 & they're not driving. Why are you reporting this – better yet, why is drunk in quotes? Could it be so your loyal viewers can see these black men drunk so they'll be irate; or are ya pissed because they were drinking LeBron's Lobos?

Others can't find the actual story within the story to save their life.
Celebrating a sports victory with alcohol?
Unheard of! pic.twitter.com/eTHWJfV18R— Kel Varnsen (@_Kel_Varnsen_) August 9, 2021
Trump doesn't like NBA players, so I guess Fox considers attacking them to be part of the job. But if you are honest with yourselves Fox News, you need to admit this attack was pretty weak.

And why the hell wouldn’t they enjoy winning a Gold Medal! The shit people complain about is just insufferable!
— Sean Salisbury (@SeanUnfiltered) August 9, 2021
The double standards were glaring.
Is that a problem when Tom Brady does it? Was it a problem when Lenny Dykstra did it? Was it a problem when Mark Messier did it?

On Sunday, the U.S. dominated France, scoring 87-82 to win the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, The Associated Press reported.
Durant told The Associated Press that he, his teammates and coaches, "put in that work every single day."
"We all came in with that goal of, 'Let's finish this thing off. Let's build a family. Let's build this team," he continued. "Let's grow this team every day…Man, it's just incredible to be a part of something so special, and I'm bonding with these guys for life, this family for life."
