Frank Ocean is venturing into acting.
The "Chanel" singer’s IMDb page was updated to include a credit for "Ships Passing In The Night." Ocean will portray a character named Kevin in the film.
The film’s IMDb description reads “Brad Bang is one of the top male supermodels in the world. Grace Sol is a passionate but fragile actress. Despite their growing, troubled relationship, after a series of rehearsals and one fateful night, Grace falls for Brad, only to realize that despite needing each other, their love is forbidden."
Ocean’s only other acting credits are for a voiceover in a video game and Loiter Squad, a variety show he did with fellow members of the hip-hop collective Odd Future.
Ocean hasn’t released music since Blonde dropped in August 2016. He once told The New York Times he wanted to do something outside of music.
“I believe that I’m one of the best in the world at what I do, and that’s all I’ve ever wanted to be,” he said in November 2016. “It’s more interesting for me to figure out how to be superior in areas where I’m naïve, where I’m a novice.”
"Ships Passing In The Night" is pre-production and no release date has been confirmed. The always mysterious Ocean has not spoken publicly about the role.
