Twitter told French Montana to sit down after he claimed he has more hits than thee Kendrick Lamar. The "Unforgettable" rapper made his comments in an interview with Complex last week.

When Complex asked about his Instagram Live face-off with Tory Lanez, French Montana said, "I could go against anybody."

"You could put somebody like Kendrick Lamar next to me on the same stage at a festival," he said. "I might outshine him. Not because I'm a better rapper or whatever it is, it's just that I got more hits. Kendrick Lamar got albums. He got masterpieces. But if you was to put us on the festival stage, I would outshine him because I have more hits than Kendrick Lamar."

After seeing the responses on social media, French Montana went to Twitter to explain himself in all caps.

"IF WE JUST TALKING ABOUT ANTHEMS, !! ME VS KENDRICK HIT FOR HIT ! I BELIEVE I CAN GO NECK TO NECK !!" he wrote. "I BEEN MAKING HITS FOR A LONG TIME ! IT AINT MY FAULT I BELIEVE IN MYSELF. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION ? HOW MANY TIMES I GOTTA PROVE MYSELF BEFORE I GET MINE."

The artist doubled down on his comments in another tweet.

"I love kendrick! That’s not just for kendrick," he wrote. "That’s to anybody they put in front of me, and ask me that same question. What u want me to say lol? It should be your attitude too. If u think any less of yourself, don’t blame it on the next person who don’t ! Set it up."

Montana took time to respond to the social media users who agreed with him. He replied to his fans with the name of his newest single, "That's A Fact."

"Lord bless me with this amount of confidence and I'll accomplish anything," one Twitter user said. "That's a Fact," the rapper replied.

Kendrick's album, DAMN, took the title for Best Rap Album at the 2018 Grammys. In addition, he took honors for Best Male Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards in 2015.

Still, many social media users continued to remind Montana, a three-time Grammy nominee, that Lamar, a 13-time Grammy-award winner is the one, the two and the three.

Some people pulled out the stats to defend Kendrick.

Tyga, who was somewhere minding his own business, was also dragged into the debate.

For the most part, people found French Montana's comments absolutely laughable.

Others wanted to pretend he didn't just say that.

One person who claimed to have listened to French Montana's last three projects struggled to find the bars.

Mariah Carey, who is not really known for her rapping skills, also entered the picture thanks to one Twitter user.

Twitter wanted to know if we were all talking about the same Kendrick.

It was absolutely an ambitious claim, as another pointed out.

Some people decided to softly and politely express their thoughts to French.

Others shifted to Montana's latest cover art.

Overall, many people told French Montana to "be humble and sit down."

You heard her.
