I watched 2 episodes of this during its first season in 2010, and I wasn't hooked enough to keep watching; besides there's just too much competiting for my time, so if I'm not immediately taken with something, there's a good chance that I'll be saying goodbye to it sooner than later.

Doesn't mean it's not a good show; I just haven't taken the time to find out.

But I'm sure some of you out there have been keeping up with Showtime's dramedy series The Big C, which stars Laura Linney as a woman who receives a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Gabourey Sidibe has had a recurring role on the series, playing a student of Linney’s character – a teenager whom Linney’s character tries to help lose weight as well as her bad attitude. Idris Elba also had a stint on the show as Linney's love interest. Not sure how well that went, or how long it lasted.

Anyway… it's been announced today that Gabourey Sidibe has been upgraded from recurring to official series regular, starting with the show's upcoming 3rd season (debuting on April 8). I actually thought she was a series a regular, but I guess not.

The actress was last seen on the big screen in Tower Heist alongside Eddie Murphy, and will next appear opposite Colin Farrell and Woody Harrelson in the comedy Seven Psychopaths. I don't think we announced that casting notice actually; must have just missed it; so now you know… she's co-starring in Seven Psychopaths, playing a character named Sharice. The comedy is about a screenwriter who gets caught up in his friends dog-kidnapping plot.

It's scheduled to be released later this year.
