Gabrielle Union sat down in a recent interview with Bloomberg’s Idea Generation and discussed financial security and equally splitting the bills with her husband, Dwyane Wade.

The longtime actress has been in television and movies for nearly four decades and has never shied away from speaking out on issues most important to her. However, as a multimillionaire and activist, Union revealed she still feels anxious about her finances and struggles with her wealth.

According to The Source, the 50-year-old said she’s concerned the “rug can be pulled from under her” at any point during her established career. When host Noah Callahan-Bever asked her about reaching financial security, the Bring It On star responded, “I still struggle with that.”

“I have more responsibilities for my money,” she continued. “I get nervous if a movie doesn’t open; am I gonna have enough to hold everyone up?” she said. Union added one way to help relieve the financial burden is splitting the bills 50/50 with her NBA Hall of Famer husband.

“It’s weird to say I’m head of household because, in this household, we split everything 50/50,” she said.

The Nebraska native said many people count on her, and if she doesn’t work, “somebody ain’t gone eat.” However, Union told Callahan-Bever she’s not allowing her “scarcity mindset to be [her] engine,” per The Shade Room.

“I’m trying to find peace in the journey [of] not using my anxiety and scarcity mindset to be my engine. Which is hard,” Union added.
