A Georgia man died Friday after using a racial slur at a Waffle House and getting into a fight with two men.

According to CNN, one of the two men shot 27-year-old Nicholas Phinazee Bryan, who died after being transported to a hospital near Atlanta.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the sheriff’s office received three different 911 calls late Thursday night regarding disturbances at a Waffle House in Jackson. The first call was about an annoyed customer, the second call was regarding a fight and the third call was regarding shots fired.

Police said 36-year-old Robert Lewis Henderson and 39-year-old Antonio DeMarty Evans had a confrontation with Bryan, who was found with a gunshot wound when officers arrived.

"Bryan was using racial slurs towards Henderson and Evans and was asked to leave the premises by Waffle House staff," GBI said. "Evans and Bryan began having a physical altercation, at which time, Henderson, Jr. fired one round at Bryan, striking him."

It's unclear which slurs were used.

Henderson and Evans turned themselves in Wednesday, a day after GBI agents obtained arrest warrants. Henderson is charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated assault, while Evans faces a charge of tampering with evidence, GBI said. Investigators said Bryan died at Monroe County Hospital around 3 a.m. His body was then taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Another violent incident happened at a Waffle House in Gwinnett County, Georgia, in September. According to WSB-TV, two men attacked another man at a Snellville Waffle House. The victim, who suffered a broken nose, said the dispute began when he accidentally bumped into one of the men at the cash register.
