A sophomore at Georgia Tech took home $35,750 and a mini cooper on the Wheel of Fortune. During the show’s college week series, in the final round, Quincy Howard’s monetary winnings were $69,600.
Host Pat Sajak added to the moment when he asked Howard, “Would you like a Mini Cooper?” Sajak asked.
Howard was stunned by what he was about to receive, The special moment can be found online if you missed the episode.
Howard’s former high school, where he served as class valedictorian, Dublin City schools, congratulated the young man on Facebook.
“Way to go, Quincy!!! You cleaned up at Wheel of Fortune! You continue to make the Green and Gold beam with Irish Pride,” the caption reads.
Georgia Tech also posted Howard’s exciting moment on Facebook.
“Now let’s get some “old gold” on the super Cooper!!” a Facebook user commented on the post.
Howard is studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
According to Black Enterprise, Howard shared on LinkedIn he wants a career as an Operations Research Analyst for a business or corporation.
Howard isn’t the only college student who took home some major dough from playing the wheel. A Spelman College third-year health sciences major, Miriam Olajide, appeared on the family game show Wheel of Fortune and walked away with $22,000.
Earning a full-tuition-paid scholarship to attend Spelman and being a fan of the big wheel, Olajide came across an opportunity to audition virtually and jumped on the chance.
The Wheel of Fortune not only allows college students to win some cash and other great prizes, but they also have their celebrity faves stopping by to spin the wheel.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune also featured actress and comedian Amanda Seales and filmmaker and actor Mark Duplass alongside Snoop.
