We’ve all been in a place where we’ve seriously needed to get our life in order. In fact, once a month I have to sit down and tell myself to get back on track. I’ve come to realize that this is a normal phase in the cycle of life. When you go to hard for too long, sometimes you have to slow down because it’s impossible to do it all.

If you’ve fallen off your grind, here’s your ultimate starter pack! It includes everything you need to do to snatch your life and get things in order:

Stop avoiding your reality

Your life isn’t in order because you’re either ignoring the fact that it isn’t in order or ignoring the things that are in place to help you sort everything out. It’s safe to say that we’ve all been guilty of one or the other. Suck it up — it’s time for you to get things right.

Find solitude

When you need to get your life, sometimes you don’t need anybody else in your personal space. Other people’s energy and personal problems can easily reflect onto you and hinder you from achieving what you need to be at peace with your current space in life. Be selfish with your space so that you can feel comfortable in it.

I hate to break it to you, but tweeting “I need to get my life” isn’t going to help you at all. Put down your phone and figure out exactly why your life isn’t in order. Make a list if you have to, but shut out all of the extras, especially social media.

Create a clear space around you

Have you ever heard the saying “a clean space equals a clean mind?” This is true for many reasons, but the main one is if you’re in a clean, uncluttered space you’ll be able to think much clearer.

This can be achieved in many ways in addition to cleaning the spaces around you. For some people, this might also mean meditation, yoga or working out at the gym. There’s no single road to achieving mental clarity. Find the medium that works for you.

Reduce your life to the bare-minimum

Have you been taking on too much work? Is your schedule bogged down with packed days? Learn to say ‘no’ and remove the unnecessary from your day-to-day.

Change up your pace

We spend so much time living in the fast-lane that sometimes we forget to stop and smell the roses. Make a way for yourself to be able to breathe without constantly obsessing over the next thing.

Get organized

Planners are low-key, high-key a thing of the past in our iPhone-obsessed world. However, if you don’t have one and your life is falling to shambles because of a busy schedule, you need to get one ASAP. A good, well-organized, well-prioritized to-do list will snatch your life in a quickness.

On Saturday, May 21st, we’re hosting our inaugural conference about how creativity and technology are changing our daily lives, from our hobbies to our work. Will you be joining us? Tickets here.
