Traveling while Black can be pretty unpredictable. Digital creator Gille Da Kid experienced this firsthand during a recent flight, where he had a run-in with a U.S. Marshal.

On Nov. 8, Gillie and his Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast co-host, Wallo, were catching a flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Before boarding the plane, Wallo posted a funny video of the two walking through the airport with no issues.

Shortly after, the fun was over when Gille was stopped by a U.S. Marshal claiming he smelled like marijuana in the airport.

Gillie, whose legal name is Nasir Fard, was in disbelief as the Marshal pressed him about the smell. Responding to the accusations, the podcaster opened his bag to show the Marshal he was in the clear. He was visibly upset during the altercation and expressed his feelings about being “singled out.”

He posted a video of the tense exchange on his Instagram.

Gille mentioned American Airlines in the caption of the clip, writing, “Plane full of white folks leaving Dallas and the only black man is ask does he have illegal narcotics in his bag. U pick the wrong n***a today buddy @americanair.”

The video starts with the men in mid-conversation arguing over the appropriate protocol.

“You walked up on me and asked if I got illegal drugs in my bag. What are you talking about, man?”

Openly displaying his Marshal badge, the man accuses Gille of “searching his own bag” and that he was “lying to the camera.”

Gillie continues confronting the Marshal while stuffing his items back into his bag.

Gillie asks, “You picked me out for what?” He continues, “For what? I’m probably the richest person on this plane. Get away from me, man.”

Gille claims the Marshal singled him out as multiple passengers passed the men during their altercation.

As he begins to walk down the tarmac, the Marshal replies, “You smell like marijuana. It’s illegal in Texas.”

Still annoyed by the back-and-forth, Gillie yells back, “You picked the wrong one today.”

American Airlines has not commented on the altercation.
