Art Basel will no doubt be full of awesome events, beautiful art and great parties, but if there’s one thing you don’t want to miss, it’s this panel.
On Thursday, December 3rd, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Yeelen Gallery, a panel of mothers, including six activist women affected by losing children to racial profiling and violence from police, will meet. This event is in coordination with “what’s INSIDE HER never dies…a Black Woman’s Legacy,” which is a group exhibition curated by Karla Ferguson. Its purpose is to celebrate the legacy and the influence of the black woman.
Gallery owner Karla Ferguson will host the afternoon’s panel, which features Iris Baez, Valerie Bell, Constance Malcolm, Hawa Bah, Sybrina Fulton and Kadiatou Diallo.
In addition to the panel of mothers, other highly-respected panelists include Rev. Al Sharpton, Michael Skolnik, David Banner, Michael Sorrell, Marc Lamont Hill and Charles H.F. Davis III.
Although it’s invite only, contact the gallery ([email protected], +1 (954) 235 4758) about scoring an invite to this must-see panel. Tell them Blavity sent you!
