Grandmother-Grandson Duo Wins Big Bucks After Solving Challenging 'Wheel Of Fortune' Puzzle Within Two Seconds

On Tuesday, a new episode of the long-running game show featuring Retta Alexander and her grandson, Julian Hernandez, aired for its “Grand Getaways Week.” After beating their competitors and making it to the “Bonus Round,” allowing them to win more money, with only 10 seconds to solve a world puzzle in the “Place” category, they were given a two-word phrase that included “_ANC_ _ _ _ T _ _ _E.”

“Well, there’s two of you. Feed off each other. It’s a place. You have 10 seconds. Talk it out, good luck,” Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak told them.

Within seconds after the timer began, Alexander yelled the correct answer, “Fancy boutique.” Sajak, co-host Vanna White and the audience were blown away by how quickly they figured out what some would say was a challenging puzzle.

Hernandez immediately threw up his arms to celebrate his grandmother’s super-fast response, earning them even more cash. The two hugged each other for a long, warm embrace with smiles of joy on their faces. When Sajak revealed they won an additional $40,000 for solving the bonus puzzle, they hugged again and held hands in excitement and disbelief.
