You know you got the drip when you can make a song about how much you love your Crocs.
Yes, you read that correctly. Crocs, the footwear brand known for its cushiony comfort, is not readily associated with trap beats and catchy ad-libs. That is until Trevor Jackson dropped his latest single and video, “In My Crocs,” released earlier this month, from his LP titled Rough Drafts, Pt. 2.
In the video, the Grown-ish actor unabashedly sports his favorite kicks as he sips from his mug, twinkles the keys of a bright pink piano and is surrounded by vivid Easter-reminiscent hues. And what video about Crocs would be complete without a cameo from a live crocodile?
In an interview with Nylon Magazine, Jackson explained the message behind the song.
“This song is about the acceptance of self. We live in a society that believes that what we wear, what we drive, and how many likes we have determines who we truly are. I think that is completely backwards, and I think confidence is built from the inside out and not the outside in.”
The R&B crooner clearly shows finesse as he bounces between slick bars and harmonious notes on the record. Jackson is currently on tour promoting his LP.
