The Atlanta rapper is free and plans to help others before releasing new music.

Gunna was released Wednesday because of his plea agreement in the YSL RICO case. Immediately after leaving, the “Pushin’ P” artist announced his yearly Gunna’s Great Giveaway on Instagram.

The “Drip Too Hard” rapper will host this charitable celebration for a fifth time, giving away $100,000. He and Goodr collaborated to give 1,000 families $100 gift cards and a “special gift.” The event will take place on Sunday, Dec. 18, at a Walmart in College Park, Georgia, where he was raised.

The hunger relief organization recognized Gunna’s generosity, and they shouted him out online to thank him.

“Much respect to Gunna who, no matter what, still finds a way to contribute to the community that raised him,” shared Goodr Founder and CEO Jasmine Crowe-Houston.

“We know that people will struggle unlike any other year this holiday season, and it is our honor to maintain Gunna’s legacy of giving back,” she added.

A five-year prison term was imposed on Gunna. The four years of his original sentence that were still to be served were suspended, and he was given credit for the one year he spent in prison. Added restrictions, such as 500 hours of community service, will apply to the rapper.

No one knows if this will count toward his hours, but Gunna is always down to help his community. At his alma mater, Ronald E. McNair Middle School, he and the same relief organization established Gunna’s Drip Closet and Goodr Grocery Store in 2021.

For students who are struggling financially, the store stocks free food, clothing, and hygiene products. Furthermore, he and Young Thug paid the bond for thirty inmates at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia.

Although it’s difficult to predict when he will return to the recording studio, Gunna enjoyed tremendous commercial success until his arrest. According to Revolt, Gunna’s DS4Ever album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 150,300 album-equivalent units sold in the United States during the week ending Jan. 13, his best week to date in terms of units sold.
