People on social media are heavily accusing Twitch streamer DDG, who has now responded to people criticizing his new song “Famous.” In the songs, he raps about many insecurities in his relationship with Halle Bailey.

On Friday, DDG dropped his latest album titled Maybe It’s Me…, and on the lead single “Famous,” the rapper was resolute about getting personal with his listeners about his relationship.

In the chorus, DDG claimed he hated falling in love and only asked for Bailey “to do the basic s**t,” and that the “hardest thing I did was fall in love with a famous b***h.”

In addition to these grievances, he seemed offended by Halle Bailey’s interactions with Jonah Hauer-King, Bailey’s co-star in The Little Mermaid, across a myriad of red carpet and press appearances. He was in his feelings so much that he felt inclined to ask if his significant other was cheating on him on the song.

Based mainly on its lyrical content, the song went viral, and many fans were outraged by his provocative sentiments. Many fans subscribe to the notion that Bailey should break up with DDG to avoid derailing her career.

Over the weekend, the rising rapper responded to people criticizing him.

After the song was released, there was a lot of scrutiny about the rapper’s comments with Bailey, and some considered his rap career a failure.

According to DDG, the people speculating about his comments should “calm down because the track is nothing more than just a song.”

“They’re calling me a failed rapper right now yea, so it’s starting back up,” DDG said. “I want y’all to know, listen, ‘Famous’ is just a song okay? It’s just music y’all. Just how movies is just movies, songs is just songs.”

He continued, “Y’all gotta relax and worry about y’all own stuff, and its all entertainment. It’s the entertainment business. Relax, calm down, chill out you know it is what it is, I’m used to getting hated on.”

Regardless, fans aren’t feeling the song at all.
