Teaching is, in my opinion, one of the noblest professions there is. These public servants are not only responsible for molding the minds of children on a day-to-day basis, but their impact can be felt over a lifetime as they shape perceptions, build esteem and touch the lives of their students. With the average salary for teachers hovering around the national median income, these educators are clearly not drawn to the profession by ambitions to get rich.
The best, most effective teachers thrive off of the gratification that comes from making a difference in the lives of their students. Every now and then, they get to see the fruit of that investment in real time. This was the case when one teacher received the following letter from his student:
So I walked in the classroom and found this letter on the desk that one of my kids wrote me and… I tried so hard not tear up pic.twitter.com/QTbQ6kZ2bH
