Actress Thandie Newton has been entertaining audiences on-screen for the last three decades, taking on a number of biographical roles as well as projects in the sci-fi realm. Born in Westminster to a Zimbabwean mother and English father, her work has graced the televisions of both an American and British audiences.

In 1998, Newtown married British writer, director, and producer, Oliver ‘Ol’ Parker. Together, they are the parents of two girls and one boy. Though all three are frequently seen on the Crash star’s Instagram, not much is known about them, except for the continuous observations of all three resembling both Newton and Parker.

Considering one daughter is already pursuing the same career as her mother, it won’t be long until she also becomes a household name. Here are more interesting facts about Newton and Parker’s family:

1. Oldest child Ripley was born in 2000

Newtown and Parker officially became parents on December 17, 2000, welcoming daughter Ripley Parker. She eventually might want to follow her mother in the same line of work, but for now Ripley is finding success in her own endeavors. In October 2019, she published her first project for the book It's Not OK to Feel Blue and Other Lies, a collection of writings surrounding the often-uncomfortable topic of mental health.

2. The family of three grew to four in 2004

Second daughter, Nico Parker was born in December 2004. Unlike Ripley, Nico has opted for a career on screen. She made her acting debut in the live-action version of the classic Disney movie, Dumbo, playing the starring role of Milly Farrier, Holt Farrier's (Colin Farrell) daughter.

"[My mom] is very 'mama bear' over me," she said to Teen Vogue in 2019 regarding the manipulative ways fame can impact your wellbeing. "Just the fact that she's been through things herself, it also teaches me what situations I can avoid, or what situations that I can stay in."

3. Newton and Nico are co-starring in a film slated to be released next year

It won’t be long before Newton and her mini-me Nico share the screen together. According to PORTER magazine, they have both signed on to be a part of Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy’s new sci-fi project “Reminiscence,” also starring Australian actor Hugh Jackman.

“It was like passing the torch on,” Newton explained to the publication. “I hope she doesn’t have to run the sprints I had to run, though. I know she won’t have to. She’ll run different sprints. She’s amazing.”

4. Thandie’s only son arrived in March 2014

Booker Jombe Parker, Newtown and Parker’s only son and youngest child, was born on March 3, 2014. As with millions stateside and even more overseas, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused families to make significant changes to their daily routines. For Newtown, that meant homeschooling Booker.

Between upcoming projects, remote learning and participating in various social justice efforts, it looks like Newton, Parker and their three offspring have their hands full.
