It’s almost the end to another month, a time when Netflix makes its usual monthly announcement of films that will be added to its streaming library in the coming month – in this case, September. So if any of the below listed movies and/or TV series are of interest to you, add them to your watch-lists for when they do become available as of September 1!
Note much in terms of "black films" and/or "black TV shows," however. Of note, there’s the Nas documentary, "Time Is Illmatic."
It’s also a time when Netflix announces what films and TV series will be purged from the platforms streaming library; that list is also below. Of note, it includes Quentin Tarantino’s "Jackie Brown," the hypnotic Congolese child soldier drama "War Witch, and the first season of the original Australian series "The Slap" co-starring Sophie Okonedo, which NBC remade, with Thandie Newton taking over Okonedo’s role.
