From purple mountain majesties to those amber waves of grain, if the blunder was made in these here United States, chances are that Black Twitter saw it, dragged it and created a meme for it.
Through the magic of social media, the voices of individuals and communities that have long been invisible now have a platform and license to voice opinions, create comedy and transform culture.
One such moment happened on the red carpet of the 2017 Golden Globes when Jenna Bush Hager mistakenly combined the titles of two critically acclaimed films (Hidden Figures and Fences) featuring predominately black casts.
When actor Michael Keaton repeated the gaffe while announcing the film from the stage of the Golden Globes, #HiddenFences was born and Black Twitter wittily went in, maximizing each and every one of their 140 characters on commentary that was petty, funny, forgiving, and dripping with ironic, yet serious concepts about race, value and perception.
Now, comedian and writer Jordan Temple is taking it a step further with his first play, Hidden Fences.

Temple, whose previous credits include MTV’s Decoded, has created a parody laced with social commentary and pop culture references that puts Fences character Troy Maxon on an intergalactic mission, ala Hidden Figures, to become the first black man to hit a baseball into space.
The Hidden Fences Facebook page describes the play as follows: "Hidden Fences is an absurd mashup of a comedy play based on 'Hidden Figures' and 'Fences' and inspired by the viral mistake made at the Golden Globes."
There you have it folks, one small step for man, one giant leap for Black Twitter.
