Working out regularly requires some serious motivation. Internal motivation is ideal, but when you just can’t seem to muster up the energy to go exercise, a good playlist may be just the external inspiration you need. Much like Taylor Swift’s new Apple commercial, some great music can do wonders to help get you through a workout.

Throughout my years of working out, I’ve discovered that one kind of music in particular is very good for motivating me to go that extra mile (figuratively and literally) — and that’s trap music.

Trap music might be the best workout hack I know. You would not believe the number of times I’ve been dragging my feet, feeling miserable and tired of running, when a song from last night’s party comes on. I will start running just to keep up with the beat.

It’s amazing how playing music you actually enjoy can rejuvenate a workout! If you don’t currently workout to trap or hip-hop music, you have to try it. Here are some suggestions to help you make an amazing music workout playlist infused with rap, hip-hop, and even some pop songs with excellent hip-hop features. The best part? This playlist doubles as a sexy mix, you know, if you want to take things to the bedroom post-workout.
