Nuna Baby Essentials Inc. is donating $1 million to Howard University Athletics to support the women’s and men’s basketball teams. The donation has been allocated to revive and renovate the locker rooms and coach’s offices in the Burr Gymnasium.

Their generous contributions have contributed to the overall success and welfare of our student-athletes.”
The donation will continue the affiliation between Howard and Nuna, established in 2021.

According to the agreement, if viable, the renovations are set to be completed by the end of the 2022-23 academic year. It also requires the placement of Nuna logos on the Burr Gymnasium floors and the backboards, scoreboards, and other considerations.
The women’s Bison team went 21-10 last season in the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament, playing in the first round. It was their first time since 2001 participating in the competition.
Last season, The men’s Bison team reached the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) quarterfinal, going 16-13, and participated in the first NBA HBCU All-Star Classic in Cleveland, winning against Morgan State.
