The husband of one of the teachers who were shot and killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, died of a heart attack on Thursday, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Irma Garcia’s husband, Joe, “passed away due to grief,” according to a post on Twitter made by her nephew, KSAT reports.

In a GoFundMe campaign organized by Debra Austin, a cousin of Irma, Austin wrote that Joe died “as a result of a medical emergency,” the Daily Beast reports.

“I truly believe Joe died of a broken heart and losing the love of his life of more than 25 years was too much to bear,” she wrote.

According to Irma’s biography on the school’s website, she was married to her husband for over two decades and the couple had four children.

“I have my eldest Cristian son completing Marine boot camp and another son Jose attending Texas State University,” her biography states on the website. “My eldest daughter Lyliana will be a sophomore in high school and my youngest Alysandra will be a 7th grader this year.”

Salvador Ramos is accused of shooting his grandmother before taking her truck on Tuesday and entering the school with a rifle. He’s accused of killing two teachers and 19 students.
