A financial advisor was fired after a TikTok video exposed her saying she didn't want “to interview Black applicants,” DailyMail reported

Eileen Cure, a former affiliated advisor for LPL Financial that earned a spot on the 2021 Fortune 500 list as a top independent broker-dealer, was ousted by TikToker Denise Bradley. In an internal message, Cure expressed that interviewing Black people is a “waste of time.”

“I specifically said no Blacks…I'm not a prejudice person, but our clients are 90 percent white, and I need to cater to them so that interview was a complete waste of my time,” the Nederland, Texas, finance professional allegedly wrote in an internal communications message. “So please don’t second guess me or go against what I ask.”

Bradley runs an account called TikTok's Favorite Karen, which has over one million followers, where she consistently calls out people who display “Karen-like” behavior.

As she followed up on the original video, Bradley continued to post a series of updates on Cure, including an altered voicemail message that reiterates her refusal to hire Black applicants.

“We will not tolerate discrimination of any kind in our LPL community,” an LPL spokesperson said, concluding that if the statements prove true, Cure violated company policies, Investment News reported.

In response to the allegations, Cure also allegedly took out her frustrations on her staff and threatened that she would not provide adequate recommendations for those who wish to resign.

“If you decide to resign as Sara, Logan and Nolan have, I will not give you a good reference and I will not sign off on any internships or CPA hours,” she wrote.

Additionally, Cure’s husband appeared to join in on the retaliation and escalated the matter by threatening to kill Bradley, according to a confirmed statement that the TikToker tweeted last Thursday.

Cure has not admitted to making any of the comments she’s been accused of, but has insisted that they have no legitimacy and are “false” and “defamatory.”

"This published photo and along with subsequent related false and defamatory materials and statements, which have incited false commentary and threats of violence and bodily harm toward me and my staff and acts which are being investigated as criminal in nature, are being publicized on a social media platform by a third party who is not related or in any way affiliated with me or my office,” she said in a statement.

“I have taken steps to confirm that race never has and will not be a factor in hiring decisions at my firm,” Cure added. “I am committed to continuing to ensure that my firm and other business interests will not tolerate incitement of violence, judgment before due process, or discrimination or harassment of individuals with regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, veteran status, or on the basis of any other legally protected status or characteristic.”

Bradley viewed Cure’s riposte as “comical,” however, said that despite the financial advisor's concerted efforts to take legal action, she will continue to stand up for racial injustice.

“Here you have a white woman that has been caught being racist, in my opinion, but would rather look like the victim, up against a Black woman,” Bradley said. “We've seen this done in history time and time again. She doesn't want to admit fault but would rather try and make a Black woman the guilty party. I welcome any challenge that Eileen has. I will always stand up against racism and this issue is no different.”
