Ice-T's documentary (and directorial debut) fully titled Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap, made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and was later acquired by Indomina in a world rights deal, for a June 15 (this Friday) theatrical premiere (in the USA).
In the film, Ice-T engages several of rap’s most influential artists in conversation about the craft of rapping – among them Chuck D, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, MC Lyte, Mos Def, and Kanye West – with the goal being to explore the roots and history of rap, and reveal the creative process behind this global art form.
I saw the flick at this year's Sundance Film Festival; you can read me review of the film HERE to get my seemingly minority POV.
