I’d assume that, by now, fanboys and girls have adjusted to the fact that a black actor is playing a Norse god. I’d assume. Although even if they haven’t, well, too bad, because Idris Elba is reprising his role as Norse god Heimdall in the upcoming Thor sequel, which is scheduled to be released on November 8, 2013.
A series of new character posters from the film have surfaced, including one for Heimdall, which you can check out in full below.
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.
By the way, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is also a member of the film’s cast, playing one of the film’s lead villains, known as Kurse.
Much of the first film’s cast returns, including star Chris Hemsworth, as well as Natalie Portman, and Anthony Hopkins.
Thor: The Dark World is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne and Robert Rodat and screenplay by Christopher L. Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.
