I haven't seen the movie, so maybe this isn't as much of a spoiler as I think it is. But I thought I'd mention this just in case, and I'd still say that if you don't prefer surprises, maybe you shouldn't watch the clip, which helps audiences connect the dots between the different narratives.
From the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer comes Cloud Atlas, which opens October 26. Of the 21 reviews on its Rotten Tomatoes page (after screenings at Toronto), it's at a 76% rating, so most critics who've seen it liked it.
I'm looking forward to what Tambay or Sergio have to say about it soon.
Based on an adaptation of David Mitchell’s epic labrynth of a novel of the same name, the film stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Keith David, David Gyasi, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Wishaw, James D’Arcy and Zhou Xun.
Its synopsis reads:
"Cloud Atlas" explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
