Al Roker clapped back at critics who accused him of being a hypocrite for dressing as a white character for Halloween.
Last week, Roker criticized former colleague Megyn Kelly for insinuating blackface was OK when she was a child.
“While she apologized to the staff, she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the country because this is a history going back to the 1830s. Minstrel shows to demean and denigrate a race wasn’t right," he said.
Roker dressed up as Doc Brown from Back to the Future for Halloween, and a fewToday Show viewers were upset, reports Page Six. They lambasted Roker for dressing as a white character.
You can't do this. NBC should can your ass too.

A darker skin playing white Elton, Al playing a white doc. Oh it's all OK when costumes go your way but not the other #reverseracism

Who’s complaining. Costumes were great. Wait…is that a Caucasian wig you’re wearing? Sorry but I think your indignation @megynkelly was wrong.

The weatherman wasn’t pressed and decided to educate the ignorant critics.
I’m going to say this one last time, but the folks who get it, understand and the ones who DON’T, won’t. I can be Doc Brown, and I wear the outfit and wig and not change my skin color if you’re white , you can be President Obama if you want. Just don’t color your skin!
