Inkwell J is an emcee by way of Long Beach, California. Although you might not have heard of her yet, she’s built an impressive resume over her time in the game. Today I have a new video and single for you called “FLAW.” FLAW stands for “F*** Losers, All Winners,” and Inkwell J takes this track to look at both sides of the coin.

Produced by Hahk2, Inkwell J confidently snaps over a beat sampling Kaa from the Jungle Book. The first verse has the emcee taking more of a braggadocious approach to her craft. In the second verse, we hear a more reflective Inkwell as she talks about important issues like police brutality and the like. But the entire time she’s doing this, the air of confidence never leaves. Her voice not only demands the mic, but demands that you listen.

Inkwell J stated “I made ‘FLAW’ as a proclamation of two things: Owning my imperfections and asserting my success” when asked about the joint. You can peep the video above. And be on the lookout, Inkwell J has a mixtape dropping by the end of this year and you can catch her at SXSW next year, too. If you like what you hear, check out her EP, Linden Ave, below.
