Rapper Jack Harlow tapped into Saweetie’s interview at the BET Awards, and it seemed like he was tryna take something else home besides an accolade.

As the “My Type” rapper approached the microphone for an interview with The Shade Room (TSR) on the red carpet,  Harlow interrupted to introduce himself.

“Hi Saweetie,” the 23-year-old said as he grabbed her hand.

The two then partake in a brief dialogue before she asked, “why you shakin?”

“Am I?” he replied while proceeding to take her hand into both of his and show her he was calm, cool and collected.

“Nobody’s shakin, nobody’s shakin,” he assured her.

Following his exchange with Saweetie, born Diamonté Harper, he returns to answer more questions from The Shade Room.

“Was that you shooting your shot at Saweetie?,” TSR managing editor and celebrity interviewer Thembi Mawema asked the “Way Out” rapper.

“That was me saying hello, but you can’t say hello these days, I guess,” he answered.

When asked if he would ever try to make things official with Saweetie, he replied, “No, that’s a friend, that’s a friend vibe.”

The Kentucky native made an appearance at the BET Awards following his nominations for Best New Artist, Best Male Artist and Best Collaboration for the “What’s Poppin (Remix) feat. DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne.

Despite being nominated in three categories, some people were displeased at the fact that a white artist was nominated for a BET Award.

Some defended Harlow, referencing other white artists who have been nominated for  BET Awards in the past.

At the end of the night, however, Harlow went home empty-handed — in terms of a BET Award, at least.
