Ja Morant has been on fire during the playoffs, bringing the Grizzlies to victory on Tuesday night when they played the Timberwolves, the Commercial Appeal reports. To celebrate, the point guard turned to his dad, Tee Morant, and his father’s doppelgänger, Usher.
Ja knew the Grizzlies took the game when Karl-Anthony Towns’ final effort was unsuccessful. By the end of the game, Ja scored 30 points and had 13 rebounds and nine assists.
When he realized the Grizzlies won, Ja threw his hand in the air, suggesting that it was game over, and went over to his dad and the R&B singer.
In a clip of the triumphant moment, the crowd shouted “whoop that trick.” The point guard’s father was seen jumping in the air and waving a yellow T-shirt in his hand, singing along with the crowd. Ja also dapped up Usher during his celebration.
As Blavity previously reported, fans on Twitter have been comparing Ja’s dad to Usher, referring to Tee as the singer’s doppelgänger. As they cheered on the point guard, both wore a black T-shirt, silver chains and all-black aviators.
