Ja Morant isn’t the only baller in his family. His younger sister, Niya, has basketball acumen and plans to be a significant asset to her newfound college team soon.
After taking some time to evaluate her prospects for college, the Houston high school star guard has decided to take her talents to Mississippi Valley State University, according to a social media post.
“lets go devilettes 💚❤️ #committed #mvsu #ladydevilettes,” the caption read.

In the wake of this decision, the Morant household successfully sent its children to college through basketball.
MVSU is a Division I school located in Itta Bena, Mississippi. As HBCU Buzz reported, MVSU went 2-27 last season, with one of those wins being a win over Tougaloo College. Their only win against a Division I program came to fruition against the University of New Orleans. They went 0-18 in SWAC play last season.
In contrast with her brother Ja, who attended Murray State University, Niya will follow in the footsteps of their father, Tee Morant, who played at HBCU Claflin University in the 1990s.
