Atlanta singer Jacquees was detained at a Georgia bar on June 23 after allegedly biting a woman’s hand during a confrontation. The 29-year-old, who was charged with simple battery and obstruction, also fought with security and choked a female employee at the bar, according to police.

Jacquees allegedly tried to flee the scene when officers arrived, Vibe reported. He was, however, detained around 1 a.m. and later released. The singer’s mugshot, which is circulating online, shows that he had injuries on his face. However, none of the people involved in the confrontation had serious injuries, police said.

The court has now ordered Jacquees to stay away from the woman he allegedly bit. He is also banned from returning to Local Tap, the Gwinnett County bar where the confrontation allegedly happened.

After he was released from the Gwinnett County Jail, Jacquees posted an image on his Instagram Story to show that he was traveling to Phoenix, Arizona for his next performance, Hollywood Unlocked reported.

The R&B star also addressed the allegations in an Instagram post on Tuesday and confirmed that he is moving forward with his scheduled performances. “Minneapolis the 29, we finna finish off the tour. ‘Woman’s Worth’ out right now,” he said in a video message. “And I ain’t never got beat up either, you can’t beat [me up]… Find somebody else to play with.”

On the same day he was arrested, Jacquees released “Woman’s Worth,” a song that speaks out against domestic violence. “Nearly 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse by an intimate partner during their lifetime. It’s not always easy for the victim to leave their abuser for a number of reasons — they love them, they fear them, they have kids with them, a belief they can change them or they simply feel they have no where else to go. If you suspect or know of anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse, please try and help. – I love y’all JACQUEES,” the artist wrote on Instagram after releasing the track.

In 2018, Jacquees was arrested for speeding and possession of controlled substances. Police said he was driving 116 MPH at that time and they saw him tossing weed out of his car.
