We've given you tidbits here and there on the martial arts, action flick The Man With The Iron Fists, the soon-to-be-released directorial debut of the RZA. Recently, Pam Grier described her character and now actress Jamie Chung, who also co-stars in it, gives us some details on this highly anticipated film.
She informed comingsoon.net that it was originally four hours saying…"The original cut was four hours long and RZA was like, 'Let's turn it into two movies! [Producer] Eli [Roth] was like, 'Eh…'"
Then, she elaborated on RZA's abilities and what the film will feel like stating…"They're really excited and I have complete faith in RZA, he's a genius when it comes to these things and he knows the genre so well. So, it's cut down to an hour and a half. Now he's working on the music. Everyone is stoked but it will have that cool feel like '36th Chamber of Shaolin' or 'Five Deadly Venoms.' It's definitely a delicacy and Russell Crowe is doing some amazing things that you would never see him do in film. It's a fun movie. I think it may come out in August."
The film centers on a blacksmith (RZA) who makes weapons for a small village, in feudal China, who's put in the position where he must defend himself and his fellow villagers. Eli Roth and Quentin Tarrantino are on board as producers on the project.
Lucy Liu, Rick Yune and Dave Bautista also appear in the flick.
