Comedian and Academy-Award winner Jamie Foxx is making a comeback to the small screen in a new series White Famous, which was called to series by the premium network Showtime. Foxx will act as executive producer, alongside Tom Kapinos (Californication) and pilot director Tim Story (Ride Along 2). Jay Pharoah, of SNL fame, will be the leading actor with Foxx starring in a recurring role.
While Foxx may not be a weekly regular on TV screens as he was during the ‘90s in the hit series, The Jamie Foxx Show, this new series is, however, based on Foxx’s rise to stardom and becoming as he puts it, “white famous.” Foxx has tapped Megalyn Echikunwoke of House of Lies and The Mindy Project’s Utkarsh Ambudkar to join the cast.
The network has not announced a series premiere date.
