Janet Jackson and her niece, Paris Jackson, reunited at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday as they both attended the Tom Ford runway show. They were seen sharing a warm embrace outside the venue and individually posing for photographs.

They both wore all-black outfits for the occasion. Paris wore a long gown with a thigh-high slit, while Janet sported a peplum top and maxi skirt with a leather jacket over her shoulders.

What is the relationship between Janet Jackson and her niece Paris?

Both members of the Jackson family make rare and intermittent public appearances. In 2022, Janet posted a photograph of herself and Paris at a fashion week party.

“So good catching up w/ my beautiful niece @parisjackson 💖💖💖,” Janet captioned the post.

In the past, fans have speculated about a potential rocky relationship. Paris stood up for her need for privacy years ago.

“Dear social media followers, friends, stalkers, lovers and haters, and fellow moonwalkers: Please do not tell me/demands/try to control how I handle my relationship with the people in my life, specifically my family,” she wrote on Instagram in 2018 after she did not attend Janet’s Billboard Music Icon Award induction, according to Page Six.

She added that her family stories are “no one’s business but ours” and that “I will always have love and respect for my family. ALWAYS.”

Paris also wrote: “Every family has their moments of trauma, heartbreak, separation, love, oneness, tribe, pain, everything. EVERY FAMILY. My family, specifically, and a good number of others…well, our drama is broadcasted worldwide through media. But that doesn’t mean our family issues are any different from yours. Ours are just made public.”

Paris Jackson recently spoke about the upcoming biopic of her father Michael Jackson

Paris recently made headlines after she said she shared that she was not involved in the making of the biopic about her late father.

She wrote that she “read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it i moved on with my life. not my monkeys not my circus. god bless and god speed,” according to People.

Paris then added she wasn’t involved “at all” in the project after Colman Domingo, who will be playing Joe Jackson, shared that he had spoken with Michael’s children.

“We’ve chatted briefly,” Domingo said. “But her brother [Prince] is very much a fan of the film. He’s also a producer on the film as well. But Paris has been nothing but lovely and warm.”

Michael is slated for an April 24, 2026, release. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the film was produced by co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate, John Branca and John McClain, and stars Jaafar Jackson (Paris’s cousin) as the late King of Pop.
