Actress Janet Hubert ripped into Phylicia Rashad after she tweeted her support for Bill Cosby on Wednesday following his release from prison.
“Phylicia what are you thinking!!! I don't know you but to say this was terribly wrong. EVERYONE knew what he was doing back then. How could you NOT! Get your umbrella sista here comes the s**t shower," Hubert wrote on Twitter. “I am outraged that he has been released. Yes he is an old ass guilty man!”
“I would have said he’s old he’s out and I’m happy for him, but he still …guilty. I know 5 women who have not come forward,” she revealed in a follow-up tweet. “Enough Ya’ll we know better. Powerful men do wrong things, black or white…”

As Blavity previously reported, Rashad issued a statement in support of sexual assault survivors following her initial tweet where she called Cosby's overturned conviction a "miscarriage of justice corrected."
“I fully support survivors of sexual assault coming forward. My post was in no way intended to be insensitive to their truth," she wrote in an Instagram story. "Personally, I know from friends and family that such abuse has lifelong residual effects. My heartfelt wish is for healing.”
Some people applauded Hubert for speaking out against Rashad's comments.

But others responded to Hubert’s remarks against Rashad, questioning if she knew women were being assaulted by Cosby previously, why didn't she come forward.
“Oh but I have you just didn't bother to listen because you all were to busy beating my ass over Fresh Prince s**t,” the 65-year-old replied to the backlash.

Hubert's response is in reference to her longstanding feud with Will Smith after she left the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The two didn’t speak for decades but had a candid conversation during November’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion on HBO Max.
"I feel like this is a dream," she said to Smith, USA Today reported. "I didn't come here to have animosity. I came here to resolve, 'cause it's time."
After sharing she felt like she was banished by Smith, she also said their conversation during the reunion was “healing.”
"I could not do a 30-year celebration of this show and not celebrate you – celebrate your contribution to this show and celebrate your contribution to my life,” Smith said to his former co-star.
