Janet Jackson and BernNadette Stanis have spoken out on the death of their beloved Good Times co-star, Johnny Brown.
Brown, who played building superintendent Nathan Bookman on the 1970s sitcom, died on March 2. He was 84. The actor’s daughter, Sharon Catherine Brown, announced his death on Instagram.
Following the news of his death, Brown's Good Times co-stars Janet Jackson and BernNadette Stanis took to social media to pay tribute to the late actor.
On March 5, Stanis, who played Thelma Evans on Good Times, shared her thoughts on Brown’s passing via Instagram.
“I will miss all the stories about Sammy Davis Jr. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and even John Wayne,” she wrote. “His talent was beyond measure…. He was such a pleasure to work with. I certainly will miss his happy spirit and big smile. Praying for his family in every way. RIP my wonderful friend I will truly miss you.”

Later that evening, Jackson, who played Penny Gordon Woods, shared her condolences on Twitter.
“Such loving memories of our time together,” the “Rhythm Nation” singer wrote. “You were full of laughter and forever smiling. Always so sweet and so kind to me. I love you and will miss you.”
According to Brown’s daughter, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Russell, son JJ, grandchildren Elijah and Levi, and his older brother, George.
