Janet Jackson kicked off the new year by celebrating her son’s birthday.
The 59-year-old mother penned a rare, sweet message to 9-year-old Eissa Al Mana, whom she shares with ex-husband Wissam Al Mana, on Instagram and gave fans an inside look at his birthday celebration.
Jackson shared a picture of Eissa’s PlayStation 5 controller-shaped birthday cake
Jackson shared a snap of her son’s red and black PlayStation 5 controller-shaped birthday cake with nine candles, Eissa’s name in blue lettering and a figurine of Astro Bot with stacks of PlayStation 5 titles.
“To my beautiful heart and soul, may God continue to bless you and keep you close ALWAYS. Happy Birthday Baby 😘😘😘,” Jackson captioned the post.
Jackson, typically private about her personal life, occasionally opens up about Eissa on social media. She shared a lovely video message to him on Instagram last year for his eighth birthday and praised the “young man you’re becoming.”
“You are so creative. You are so kind. You are so loving,” Jackson gushed in the clip. “You are really, really smart, and you’re so talented. You’re very brilliant, baby.”
She added how proud she is to be his mama.
Jackson and Wissam welcomed Eissa three months before their split
Jackson and then-husband Wissam welcomed Eissa on Jan. 3, 2017, three months before they split after five years of marriage, People reported. The superstar shared the first photo of her son when he was 14 weeks old, shortly after she and Wissam called it quits. The picture showed a young Eissa yawning as Jackson kissed him on his forehead.
“My baby and me after nap time,” she captioned the picture.
Jackson currently lives in London, where she co-parents Eissa with Wissam.
