Tom Cruise is opening up about his close friendship with Janet Jackson. Weeks after the Mission: Impossible frontman appeared at one of Jackson’s stops on her Together Again Tour in May, the actor talked to Entertainment Tonight about being “right in there” during her performance and enjoying her music.
“Come on! It’s Janet, she’s a legend,” the 60-year-old movie star told the outlet during the Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One premiere in Rome.
He mentioned he caught the concert on one of his rare nights off.
“That was a moment, yeah, that was my night off. That was my last break,” he said with a laugh. “I just want to tell you to go see Janet.”
After her show in Charlotte, North Carolina, Jackson shared a snap of the surprising duo. In it, the “All for You” singer and Cruise are cheesing arm-in-arm.
“T, it was so good seeing you and nice spending some time together 😊,” she wrote in the caption.
Cruise confirmed to Entertainment Tonight “T” is Jackson’s go-to nickname for him.
“Yeah she calls me T,” he said. “Look, she can call me whatever she wants. She’s Janet Jackson! She’s a goddess. She is a goddess.”
According to People, Cruise is one of many stars that have shown up to Jackson’s tour, including Angela Bassett, Katie Homes, Questlove and Ciara.
Jackson kicked off the Together Again Tour in April in Hollywood, Florida. It marks her first time on the road in almost four years, and the singer ensures fans get what they waited for — her epic set includes 40 of her beloved hits.
