Jay-Z Is Partnering With Jeff Bezos To Put A Bid On NFL Franchise Valued At $6 Billion

The Commanders current owner, Dan Snyder, is being forced to sell the team amid financial scandals. The US attorney’s office in the Eastern District of Virginia is investigating the franchise for allegedly withholding revenues due to visiting teams playing in Washington and failing to return deposits for tickets to fans.

Snyder also paid a $10 million fine to the NFL in 2021 after the franchise faced allegations of sexual harassment and other misconduct in the workplace.

“It is now clear that the culture was not what it should be, but I did not realize the extent of the problems, or my role in allowing that culture to develop and continue,” Snyder said in a statement at the time. “I feel great remorse for the people who had difficult, even traumatic, experiences while working here.”

Jay-Z currently runs a sports agency through Roc Nation, representing NFL stars such as Saquon Barkley. Roc Nation has also been working with the NFL to boost the league’s social justice efforts.

Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post, is ready to pay more than $5.5 billion, a source told the Financial Times.
