Jeezy gave Nia Long her flowers during an hour-long conversation about the pair’s struggles with love, marriage, divorce and trauma.

“I want to personally tell you that you embody what a well-minded, grown a** Black woman is supposed to be like,” Jeezy said in a nearly five-minute clip shared from a TikTok account. “And we stand with you always.”

He continued: “The reason why I wanted to talk to you is because you are my sister, and this is a safe space for me to say what I need to say. At times when we’re at our lowest, we need our sisters … just like ya’ll need your brothers. And that’s why this conversation was so real because I hope and pray this conversation can open up other conversations in our culture about being there for each other.”

“I have so much respect for Nia Long. I always have. She Carrie’s herself with so much class and dignity,” a third user said.

According to Revolt, the interview was released on Tuesday, and the pair talked about some of Jeezy’s most challenging moments in his life, including the trauma he experienced from an older woman.

“I think it was several things,” the Atlanta native said. “I think the first was being left with a babysitter that was a woman that was older than me and her, you know, touching me and doing things to me that don’t normally happen to kids.”

He continued: “So, I was introduced to sex at a very young age.”

The rapper also discussed his two-year marriage to Mai after the couple married in March 2021. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Jeezy filed for divorce in Fulton County court on September 14.

In the complaint, he cited the couple is in a “bona fide state of separation,” with “no hope for reconciliation.” The couple also share a 1-year-old daughter, Monaco, born in January 2022.

During the interview, The Best Man star asked if the two had gone to couple’s therapy to resolve their issues, to which Jeezy said yes. However, he realized that none of the alternatives would prevent them from getting a divorce.

“This has not been an easy journey. I can tell you that I’m sad,” he told the 53-year-old. “I can tell you that I’m disappointed. I can tell you that I’m uneasy. But God has put me on a different path, and that path is gonna entail for me to take care of myself, and to love myself, and to be in the best situation that I can thrive as someone who’s been through all of the things that I’ve been through.”

“I can only be responsible for myself,” he added. “I can only do what I can do. I can’t expect someone else to do what I’m doing,” he added.
