Jeffrey Wright has been cast in the role of Beetee in the much-anticipated Hunger Games sequel, based on Suzanne Collins’ novel Catching Fire.

Who's Beetee? Courtesy of the Hunger Games wiki:

Hailing from District 3, Beetee was given the nickname "Volts" by the other victors of the years after his victory and his knowledge about manipulating electricity. Together with Wiress (his companion, who never left his side during the 75th Hunger Games), they were called "Nuts and Volts." He and Wiress got the trust of Katniss when they were training for the games. Wiress and Beetee were two of the many Tributes who were called upon by Haymitch to protect Katniss and Peeta no matter what in the arena, but they were also meant to be protected as a means to stop the Games forever.

To be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik,The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

It's scheduled for a November 22, 2013 release.

Wright will most likely be next seen in George Tillman Jr.'s The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete.
