According to HipHopDX, the singer shared her thoughts on appearing on Verzuz while chatting with Swizz Beatz on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Beatz, who created the popular Instagram series in 2020, opened up about his career, marriage to Alicia Keys, health and more.
The conversation then pivoted to Verzuz, which Hudson shared “saved her life” during the pandemic.
After asking what fans should expect from the show’s upcoming season, Beatz hinted they’re ready to move forward as soon as Hudson and Fantasia “sign the contract.”
The crowd applauded, prompting Hudson to share she was open to the idea.
“That’s what y’all want,” Hudson said to the happy crowd. “We’ll see.”
Hudson and Fantasia are pretty busy lately — Hudson has her hit talk show, and Fantasia is preparing for the upcoming remake of The Color Purple. But the “Spotlight” singer doesn’t think that’s a deal breaker.
“We may have the chance to do that,” she noted on the show.
Aside from her battle, Hudson shared she would love to see two “old-school” legends face each other in a sing-off: Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson.
“It might be closer than you think,” Beatz hinted.
